Cody Worley ended Gleason’s chance at revenge with a shutout and the Greenfield Yellowjackets entered spring break with a 4-0 win over the visiting Bulldogs this past Friday in Greenfield.
Scoring began in the bottom of the third inning when Tyler Jones and Tony Robinson each drove in a run with singles to give Greenfield a 2-0 lead.
Continuing to hold the visitors scoreless in the top of the fourth inning, the Yellowjackets quickly loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning with just one out on the board. A Worley single scored Jones and Greenfield increased its advantage to 3-0.
With both teams held at bay in the fifth, Gleason grounded out on three straight at-bats in the sixth. In the bottom of the inning, Ty Smithson led off with a line-drive single. Worley made contact with the ball, but tried to turn a single into a double and was thrown out. Kadeem McDonald singled to drive in Smithson for a 4-0 Jacket lead.
