Ridgemont holds Folk Festival

Ridgemont Elementary School will hold the 17th annual Spring Heritage Days Folk Festival from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on April 23-24 at the Obion County Fairgrounds, Union City. Admission is $3 and the event is handicapped accessible.
The event features authentic old time skills and crafts providing a unique historical, educational and entertaining glimpse into everyday skills of years past. Events for the kids are scheduled as well as local bluegrass, country and gospel groups providing the music.
For food and refreshments there will be a country kitchen with wood stove cooked vittles, a Mexican restaurant, fried catfish and trimmings, cranked ice cream and concession stand.
On Saturday there will be a demonstration of primitive skills, herbs, organic gardening, antique tractor competitions and a parade of antique tractors and cars.
