A Union City man has been charged with harboring a vicious animal after two dogs that he owned allegedly killed other dogs.
Richard Casey, 36, of 703 North Sixth St., Union City, was issued a citation Monday morning for charges of harboring a vicious animal and leash law violation, according to a Union City Police Department report.
Police reported he owned two dogs that were loose and killed three other dogs Friday.
Monday, Union City police reported two pit bulls were shot and killed after they attacked other dogs and became aggressive toward police officers who were searching for them following the dog attacks. The dogs were located in a field near Cheatham Street and Mount Zion Road in Union City, where police were forced to shoot both of them after they allegedly came toward officers.
