|An April 1 incident involving a large ag-equipment business in Martin has left the Martin Police Department searching for stolen property. |
According to an incident report, the department was dispatched to Tennessee Tractor, LLC on Hwy. 45 East Friday morning after employees noticed a glass door of the business’s showroom had been pried open.
The STIHL displays throughout the showroom were bare, according to the report.
Apparently, the store was broken into Thursday, April 1 and at least 33 pieces of STIHL equipment were taken from the local business.
Damage to the glass door is estimated at $200.
Items stolen from Tennessee Tractor, LLC. include 13 trimmers; 6 blowers; 2 pole pruners; 1 concrete saw and 11 chain saws.
The estimated value of the stolen items is approximately $13,000.
MPD investigators are working to solve the case. All of the items stolen, including serial numbers and the approximate value of the STIHL equipment, were entered into the NCIC on Friday, April 2.
The department is asking anyone with information regarding the burglary or whereabouts of the stolen items are asked to call the department’s non-emergency number at 587-5355.
