The Sons of Confederate Veterans local camp 176 will meet Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Obion County Museum community room on Edwards Street in Union City. The guest speaker will be Camp Commander Joe Dillon, who will continue a program on the history of Capt. W.A. Shuck of the 8th Kentucky Cavalry, who was an ancestor of the late Paul Wilson. The information will be drawn from Shuck’s diary.
The SCV works in conjunction with other historical groups to preserve Confederate history. It is not affiliated with any other group. The SCV rejects any group whose actions tarnish or distort the image of the Confederate soldier or his reasons for fighting.
