CDS ENJOY A MUSIC WORKSHOP AT UTM — Jill Ferrie (right) of the Sigma Alpha Iota ladies fraternity at the University of Tennessee at Martin, shows Kelly Tidwell, of Rives, how to play a percussion instrument. Clorissa Wyatt, of Union City, and Author Davis, of Dresden, look on.  Ferrie and other members of UT Martin’s SAI coordinated a music workshop for individuals served by Community Developmental Services.  The activity was held on March 25 at the Boling University Center. More than 80 individuals from CDS attended.  The group from CDS heard musical demonstrations on the clarinet, saxophone and oboe, then divided into three groups to try the instruments out for themselves: percussion, woodwind and brass.  CDS is a community-based nonprofit organization in Martin that provides services and support to adults with developmental disabilities from Weakley, Obion, Henry, Carroll and Lake Counties.  wcp 4-8-10
