| Children will grab their guns and set out on a hunt to raise money for children’s cancer research next weekend. Northwest TN Kids Hunting For a Cure is a non-profit organization which provides financial support to research hospitals/foundations dedicated to developing cures for cancer and childhood diseases. The Northwest Tennessee chapter of Kids Hunting for a Cure is a group of hunters and outdoor enthusiasts who are determined to pass on their own passion for the outdoors to a new generation and are dedicated to providing financial support for cures for cancer and childhood diseases. Monies are raised from generous donations by individuals, corporate sponsorship, and auction items sold during the annual KHFAC event held during the youth portion of the Tennessee turkey season in Huntingdon. All members of the community are invited to attend the Northwest Tennessee event set to take place beginning Friday, March 26. Some of the best turkey callers in the hunting industry will be there including Preston Pittman, Alex Rutledge, Mitchell Johnson, Billy Yargus, Stephan Richardson, Troy Wheat, Chris Parrish, Jim Pollard, Larry Shockey and James Harrison. There will be a variety of items for auction. Some of the items include a War Eagle boat, Kawasaki Mule, several guns, numerous big game hunts, prints, celebrity-autographed items and items that appeal to females as well. The event doesn’t stop there as a concert is scheduled for Saturday, March 27. Some of the entertainers slated for the concert are Black Stone Cherry, Kevin Blake Weldon, 24/7, Jason Clutter, Richard Kiser, Gina West, Jason Coley, Matt Mason, The Tennessee Valley Express, Richard Young and possibly some surprise guests. The entertainment list continues to grow. During the day on Saturday, an outdoor expo will take place featuring several clothing vendors, animal calls and hunting needs. There are nearly 100 children that will be participating in the hunt. From hunters to outdoor enthusiasts, this event offers something for everyone.
