| Nashville – Tennessee National Guard Air Cavalry units from Smyrna, Jackson and Louisville will return to Tennessee Saturday and Sunday, March 20 and 21, after being deployed to Iraq for a year. Almost 600 soldiers of the 1-230th Air Cavalry helicopter squadron will be arriving at the National Guard’s Volunteer Training Site in Smyrna, Army Aviation Support Facility #1. Saturday’s flight of 243 soldiers will be Guardsmen primarily from Middle Tennessee. Their aircraft is scheduled to arrive at the flight facility Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The flight Sunday is composed of 335 soldiers from Jackson and Louisville and is to arrive at the Smyrna facility Sunday at 4 p.m. All soldiers will out-process at Smyrna before returning to their home stations. Departure times have not been established and the schedules are tentative. A large number of families and friends are expected to be on hand to greet the returning soldiers. WCP 3.18.10 | | | |
