Fortnightly Club meets

The Fortnightly Club of Martin met on Saturday, March 6, in the home of Mrs. Barbara Trentham. Co-hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. Evelyn Culvahouse and Mrs. Carolyn James.
Mrs. Rene Kimsey, Pampered Chef representative, presented the program for the afternoon. She prepared a new and delicious dessert with cake, strawberries and whipped cream for 15 members and one guest. While members were enjoying their coffee and dessert, Mrs. Kimsey demonstrated various food decorations and preparation tips.
President Mrs. Frances Cates opened the business meeting with the reading of the Collect. Secretary Mrs. Donna Jones called the roll and read the minutes, which were approved as written.
Correspondence was also read. Mrs. Carolyn James gave the treasurer’s report. After some discussion, it was decided that the Club sponsor three children for the Weakley County Reading Railroad.
