Women to meet
“The Wearing of the Green” will be the upcoming theme for the monthly luncheon meeting of the local Ken-Tenn Women’s Connection Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Ole West Steakhouse at 943 Main St. in Martin.
Patricia Bing will “dazzle the ladies” with her “Creations With Paper” feature.
Music selections will be “Lilting Tunes” by Sarah Smyth of Union City.
The speaker will be Judith Barth from Dayton, who has selected the theme “Finding Wisdom in a Very Critical Time,” for her presentation. Those attending are invited to wear something green if they wish, but to join in the fun no matter what color their wardrobe.
The $10 price includes buffet, beverage and tip. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations can be made by Monday morning by calling (731) 587-3915, 885-9029, (731) 479-2979 or 479-8020.

Reelfoot Baptist Church, located on the Old Lake Road near Union City, will host a women’s conference March 20 at 8 a.m., when pastries and coffee will be served and check-in will be completed. From 9-noon, Sandra Robbins will be the speaker. Special music will be featured and a luncheon is planned at noon. The event is free and open to all women. Door prizes will be awarded.

First United Pentecostal Church, located at 1105 Edwards St. in Union City, will host Friend Day March 21. The community is invited to attend and enjoy miniature horse and cart rides for families and hamburgers and hot dogs.

Anointed Church of the Living God, located at 1211 South Miles Ave. in Union City, will host “In the Beginning,” program Sunday at 3 p.m. Six “new” speakers will share their first public messages with the congregation and all guests that afternoon. These include Laura Pigue from Sharon; Terika Walker of Fulton; Frances Crayne and Anthony Marshall, both of Union City; Daine Thomas of Dyersburg and Blossie Cheirs of Hickman, Ky.
Bishop Barbara Bolden is pastor and Stephanie Marshall is co-pastor and Michael Carr is senior bishop.
“Come share with us a word of encouragement as we celebrate this ‘beginning’ and share in the messages God has given these speakers,” a spokesman said.
Donations will go to the Haiti Earthquake Foundation.

Manna Ministries, located at 4001 Ken-Tenn Highway near Union City, will be selling takeout plate lunches Saturday from 3-5 p.m. at the church. The menu will include either chicken and dressing or chicken and dumplings, plus two sides and dessert for $6.
Funds raised will go the congregation’s building fund. To order in advance, call 886-0664.

Senior Friends to meet
Senior Friends of Cobb’s Chapel United Methodist Church will meet at Autry’s Country Kitchen in Troy Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. for a good meal and fellowship, a spokesman said. Pew-packing event set
Brown Chapel AME Church, located at 801 East College St. in Union City, will host a Pack-a-Pew program Sunday at 3 p.m. The Rev. Al Seward and members of Badgett Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Rutherford will be special guests.
The community is invited to join the congregation for this special service.

New Concord Baptist Church near Kenton will host a spring revival Sunday through Wednesday, with the Rev. Eric Burress as the evangelist.
The Rev. Johnny Witherspoon is the pastor. Music director will be Leo Wainscott, with Sheila Gunnells serving as pianist.
Services will be 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 weeknights.
