A family reunion is being planned for the Johnson, Hogan and Alexander families. It is to be held June 25-27 in Chicago.
Family members are requesting those who plan to attend make arrangements at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites O’Hare West, 200 South Mannheim Road, Hillside, IL 60162 by calling (708) 544-2700 or visiting www.hichicagowest.com. “The hotel selection is for comfortable accommodations and logistical ease,” a family spokesman said, adding “The location offers many families a variety of educational attractions such as Brookfield Zoo, Shedd Aquarium and other events that have family-friendly atmospheres.”
Billy Ray Johnson of Union City will be presenting “A Miracle on Strings.” Family members who play an instrument and sing are asked to join in the celebration. Johnson, who will serve as the lead musician, was formerly the guitarist for the famous Tiny Turner and other well known performers such as James Brown.
Marilynn Jean Ward of Atlanta will present “The Bloodline Truth (Blessings and Curses).” “Do you really want to know the truth about our ancestry roots? Have you ever had the question be presented to you why do you speak so properly? Did you ever know the reason why we are a talented family with multi-talents? What about the curses of mental illness, physical illnesses and drug addiction? These and other truths will be shared openly at the reunion so that we may pray and ask God to deliver us from the bloodline curses and promote our blessings,” the spokesman said.
Dr. Dorothy Thompson of Chicago will present a health program, covering all the details that family members need to know about health history within the family. Those attending are asked to bring paper and pencil to take appropriate notes.
For more information, contact Marilynn J. Ward by mail at P.O. Box 1047, McDonough, GA 30253, by phone at (770) 862-4603 or by e-mail at marilynnward@yahoo.com.
