Hello everyone, February is here and great things are happening at the center. The center has started a new program of bowling at Southlanes Bowling in Union City. The next trip will be at 9 a.m., Feb. 16. All seniors are invited.
On Feb. 11, the seniors are having a Valentine Luncheon. You don’t have to have, or bring a sweetie to attend. Just come join the seniors and have a good time.
Trina and I will be at a Woman’s Conference on Feb. 12, but will be back for Bingo that afternoon. Look for the door prize.
The public is invited at 1 p.m., on Feb. 15, for Black History Celebration. Our speaker this year will be Dr. Frank Black. We look forward to his presentation. Col. Bob Smith has done a wonderful job, as always, volunteering his time to help put this program together. Everyone is invited, so mark your calendars for this event.
Another new activity will take place every third Sunday of the month at 2 p.m. Come join the Bluegrass Country Jam. If you like to pick and grin, this is the place for you. The next time they will meet will be at 2 p.m., Feb. 21. There is no age limit and observers are welcome.
Potluck will be Feb. 18, starting at 11:30 a.m. Bring a friend and a dessert.
Jeanie Townsend will be here Feb. 25, for vision screening. She had to cancel last month due to sickness. This is sponsored by the office of Dennis R. Woolverton. O.D,
These are some of the activities that our seniors are enjoying.
The office is open from 7:30 a.m.- 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and for special events after hours. Please feel free to come join the fun. You can use all things at the center at no charge. If you have any questions about anything, please feel free to contact us at 587-3900. The center likes giving tours of the building.
