Completed arrangements are being announced for James Albert “Flukie” Harris, 66, of Chicago, formerly of Union City, who died Feb. 7, 2010, at Illinois Masonic Hospital in Chicago.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Beech Grove Baptist Church in Rutherford, with the Rev. Arthur Hannah officiating and interment following in the church cemetery.
Rawls Funeral Home in Union City is in charge of arrangements. Friends may call there from 6-8 this evening.
He was born Nov. 30, 1943, in Gibson County, son of the late James Harris and the late Annie Pearl (Wright) Harris Brown. He was a retired steel mill worker
Survivors include his wife, Edna Rosario Harris, whom he married Aug. 12, 1979; five daughters and his son-in-law, April and Michael Tyler and Angela Harris, all of Hammond, Ind., and Monique Lewis, Yamala Harris and Julia Harris, all of Chicago; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Keith and Shirley Durham of Hammond, Robbie Harris of Chicago and Tony and Angela Harris of Union City; two stepdaughters, Sharrel Landfair and Shawnta Landfair, both of Chicago; his sister and brother-in-law, Mattie and Julius Robinson of Louisville, Ky.; his brother and sister-in-law, Billy Joe and Rosie Harris; his stepfather, Roy “Bill” Brown of Trenton; three stepsisters, Cora Harris of Waukegan, Ill., Katie Brown of Trenton and Lovie Reed of Dresden; seven stepbrothers, Leshé Brown of Dyer, James Brown of Trenton, Curtis Brown and Johnny R. Brown, both of Waukegan, Freddie Brown of Union City, Edward Brown of Texas and Leroy Brown of Rives; and 22 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
