Herbert Parrish King

Herbert Parrish King, 92, of Dresden, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at the Weakley County Rehab and Nursing Center, Dresden.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden with Will Norrid officiating. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery.
Austin Davis, Ron Buntin, Joe King, Buddy Bell, Roger Summers and Lynn Summers served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Clay Wilson, Tom Wilson, Andy Wilson and Mike Wilson, Robert Mansfield, Gaylord Hodges, Tommy Fowler, Jack Dunning and Doyle Scott.
King was born in Dresden, son of the late George Britton and Addie Wilson King. She was the widower of Marion Summers King. He was a carpenter for Winstead Lumber Company and Gleason Lumber Company, a former Dresden Building inspector and member of Palmersville Church of Christ.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Beatina and Phillip Davis of Dresden; two grandchildren, Travis and Jenny Davis, Austin and Heather Davis; and two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Wayne Davis and Jonathan Ray Davis.
