Former Gleason funeral director charged
A Gleason woman and former funeral home owner was taken into custody Tuesday for allegedly misappropriating funds from the business.
Karen Anne House, 53, of Peace and Harmony Road in Gleason faces one charge of theft over $10,000.
House was a former owner of Gallimore Funeral Home in Gleason. During her time as owner, House allegedly misused pre-need funeral payments made to the business, according to a press release issued by the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department.
According to an affidavit, House sold the pre-need funeral contracts to individuals and used the money from the sales for personal and funeral home expenses.
The case is still under investigation and according to the WCSD, more charges in the case may be filed at a later date.
