Golden Living Center sets events

Golden Living Center in Union City has announced the following activities for Feb. 11-20.
Thursday: The beauty shop will be open with services provided by Metta Sisk of Union City. Heart Health Awareness Day will be observed, with staff and residents wearing red. Hugs for Heart Day will be held. Residents are encouraged to fill hearts with signatures for collected hugs. At 9 a.m., the coffee club will meet. Exchange Street Church of Christ in Union City will hold Bible study at 10. At 2 p.m., The Hospitality Committee will help decorate for the Valentine banquet, which will begin at 5:30. At 6, the Valentine royalty will be crowned.
Friday: Coffee will be served at 9:30 a.m. At 10:30, Pollyanna the Clown will distribute Valentines. A Valentine Party will be held and hug awards will be presented at 2 p.m. At 3:30, the Obion County Children’s Chorus will visit and present singing Valentines.
Saturday: At 9:30 a.m., the coffee club will meet. Dennis Quinn of Wayside Church in Hornbeak will present a Bible study at 10:30. At 2 p.m., Bingo will be played in the south dayroom.
Sunday: At 10 a.m., Baptist Temple in Union City will visit and hold Sunday School. Exchange Street Church of Christ will provide services at 4.
Monday: The beauty shop will be open. From 7-9 a.m., one-on-one visits will be offered. A New Beginning with Reelfoot Baptist Church will be held with the residents in the main dining area from 9:30-11 a.m. A Monday afternoon singing and Bible study will be held 1-2.
Tuesday: At 9 a.m., the coffee club will meet with Becky Jones of Union City and her group “Faithful Followers.” A balloon volleyball game will be offered in the main dining area at 10. At 10:30, a game of ball toss will be played in the north dayroom. Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Union City will host a Bingo game in the main dining room at 2 p.m. At 7, Terry Phillips of Union City will hold an all sing and devotion.
Feb. 17: At 9:30 a.m., the coffee and news club will meet. June Bennett of Hornbeak will make cards with the residents at 10. At 10:30, Memory Magic will be offered in the North dayroom. Residents will be treated to a game of bowling in the main dining area at 2 p.m.
Feb. 18: The beauty shop will be open all day. At 9 a.m., the coffee club will meet. Exchange Street Church of Christ will provide Bible study at 10. At 2 p.m., residents will play a game of Wheel of Fortune. Selected poetry readings will be shared in the North dayroom at 6:30. At 7, Dr. Bobby Williams and Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church will hold services.
Feb. 19: At 9:30 a.m., the coffee and news club will meet. A brainstorms program game, called “Curtain Call,” will be played with residents in the north dayroom at 10:30. At 1 p.m., residents and staff will be treated to popcorn. Geri Barber of Union City will play Bingo with the residents at 2.
Feb. 20: At 9 a.m., the coffee club will meet. Everfaithful Baptist Church of Union City will visit and host scripture and music time at 10. At 2 p.m., a game of Memory Magic will be offered to the residents in the south dayroom.
