Local youth ages 9-14 can participate in the Inaugural iHoops Skill Challenge to be held Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. in the Martin Middle School gym.
The national skills competition provides boys and girls a free opportunity to showcase their skills in a time-based, half-court obstacle course. The event is sponsored by Martin Parks and Recreation Department.
Participants may register the day of the event and must bring a copy of their birth certificate and complete a registration/waiver form. A copy of the form is available online at www.iHoops.com/skillschallenge.
The first-place champions from this competition will have the opportunity to advance to one of 29 regional competitions occurring in NBA team markets in hopes of advancing to the National Finals to be held in Orlando, Fla.
