About 850 Gibson Electric Membership Corp. customer-owners in Troy and in the area northeast of Troy experienced a power outage Friday afternoon.

The outage, caused by equipment failure, began at 1:20 p.m. Crews were dispatched immediately and worked to restore power, which resumed at 2:05 p.m., according to Rita Alexander, vice president of human resources and communications for Gibson EMC.
