A Fulton man was arrested on drug-related charges when Fulton police made a traffic stop early Sunday.
Clarence W. Dickerson, 45, of 911 Vine St., Fulton, was arrested and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), first-degree trafficking a controlled substance (cocaine), trafficking a controlled substance within 1,000 yards of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a Fulton Police Department press release.
About 12:25 a.m., a Fulton police officer observed the driver of a vehicle traveling without using his seat belt on West Highland in Fulton. During a traffic stop, the police department’s canine, Turbo, alerted to the alleged presence of drugs. Officers searched the vehicle and allegedly located a pill bottle containing eight individually-wrapped white rocks, which weighed a total of 2.4 grams. The driver of the vehicle also had about $260 in cash, police reported.
Dickerson was transported to the Fulton County (Ky.) Detention Center and his vehicle was impounded and towed to the detention center.
