By DONNA RYDER Associate Editor Union City residents who wish to listen to the proceedings or voice any concerns at the Union City Council should be at the meetings early. Tuesday evening’s meeting was evidence of that fact. At 5:30 p.m., city attorney Jim Glasgow Jr. opened the meeting with a prayer and then the council members got down to business. Without any discussion, as usual, the minutes from the previous meeting were approved. The council then learned from interim city manager Kathy Dillon that no names have been submitted for the vacant seat on the Museum Committee, despite the city’s requesting a name from current committee members. The next order of business was to approve an engineering agreement with J.R. Wauford and Co. for the cleaning, recoating and repair of the industrial water storage tank. Ms. Dillon said the fee will be $34,000 and it is included in the budgeted $272,000 for the project. The matter was approved unanimously. No miscellaneous business was brought up by the council members and no one in the sparse audience had any concerns or questions. The meeting then ad-journed, less than 10 minutes after it started.
