The Obion County Public Library is announcing an upcoming free program, “Retooling and Schooling for a New Career,” to be held Feb. 11 from 6-8 p.m. in the library meeting room at 1221 East Reelfoot Ave. in Union City. The program will focus on financial aid resources for college and is being made available through grant money the library recently received for its Job and Career Information Center. Program presenters are John Brandt, Director of Student Financial Planning at Union University in Jackson, and Don Dugger, case manager for the Workforce Investment Act program of Dyersburg State Community College.
Program participants will learn about applying for financial aid through completion of the FAFSA or Free Application for Federal Student Aid and will receive details about the WIA program and there will be no charge. Space is limited and registration is required.
