Completed arrangements are being announced for Jimmie Eugene Yates, 73, of South Fulton, who died 9:41 a.m. Jan. 25, 2010, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton, with the Rev. Max Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 5-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 a.m. until the hour of services.
He was born Sept. 29, 1936, in Fulton County, Ky., son of the late Chester Rufus and Bessie Mai (Morrow) Yates. He was a retired master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Jones-Walker Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4862 in Union City. He was also a member of Crutchfield (Ky.) Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge in Paxton, Ill.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Camille Yates of Paxton; his daughter, Cindy Yates of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren, Kasandra Marie Yates and Niko Russell, both of Champaign, Ill.; three sisters and his brother-in-law, Nina Catherine Hastings of Crutchfield, Patsy Collier of Fulton and Norma Dale (Yates) and Jim Brubaker of Wingo, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kathryn (Burcham) Yates.
