People of Haiti still need prayers and gifts. Here’s how you can help. Many congregations and individuals have been asking how to donate to Haiti through UMCOR (The United Methodist Committee on Relief). The mission agency has been working on the island for years and intends to continue ministry for years to come despite losing UMCOR’s leader, the Rev. Sam Dixon, to injuries caused by the collapse of the Montana Hotel in Port-au-Prince when the earthquake struck.
If you or your congregation wishes to make a donation to help the island’s survivors, please make your check to UMCOR, then mail to: UMCOR, PO Box 9068, New York, NY 10087. You can also call UMCOR toll free at (800) 554-8583 to donate by credit card, or you can donate by going online to www.umcorhaiti.org. One hundred percent of your gift will go to support relief and development efforts in Haiti wcp 1-21-10
