Locals best efforts
not enough at UTM

The Union City High School products within the UT Martin basketball fraternity did their parts.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough.
UCHS grads MJ Brown and Marquis Weddle each offered 11 points, but the Skyhawk men fell 73-66 to Jacksonville State on Saturday.
Meanwhile, 2009 Union City graduate Labrica Ward had her best game at the college level with a career-best 23 points during the UTM women’s 63-55 defeat.
Ward shot 7-of-12 from the field, hitting a pair of 3-pointers along the way.
For the season, the Skyhawk women are now 3-13 (1-6 in Ohio Valley Conference play). The UTM men are 2-14 (0-7 in league play).
