Cecil Dalton Williams Sr., 65, of Dresden, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at Volunteer Community Hospital, Martin.
Services were held at noon, Friday at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Doug Morris officiating. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery, Dresden.
Mike Jones, Shawn Clark, Douglas Joseph Vallery Jr., Noel Dean O’Daniel, Jeremy Ira Blaylock and Tom Warner served as pallbearers.
Williams was born in Pleasant View to the late Howard Pat and Nannie Agnes Kelley Williams. He was a United States Army and National Guard veteran. He worked as a welder and maintenance journeyman for Marble Head Line in Michigan and was a member of Hodges Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Mrs. Reba Wynn Williams of Dresden; three daughters and son-in-law, Jo Reba and Dean O’Daniel of Sharon, Crystal and Jeremy Blaylock of McKenzie, Sandra and Joseph Holley of Palmersville; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Cecil Williams Jr., Samuel Howard Pat and Courtney Williams, all of Dresden; three sisters, Martha Washam and Shirley Tidwell, both of Dresden and Sue Childrey of Gleason; one brother, Bobby Gene Williams of Romulus, Mich.; and 22 grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Williams and Elton Gene Williams.
