Mrs. Iva Bell Hodges, 88, of Paris, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at the Weakley County Rehab & Nursing Center, Dresden.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris with Tony Michael officiating. Burial was in Olive Branch Cemetery, Cottage Grove.
Horace Roberts, Curtis Roberts, Danny Dawson, Chris Dawson, Donnie Dixon and Austin Weldon served as pallbearers.
Mrs. Hodges was born Jan. 13, 1921, in Paris, daughter of the late John P. and Priscilla Insco McWherter. She was the widow of Mitchell Hodges, and a homemaker. She was a member of Jolly Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Horace Weldon of Gleason; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Burnis and Patsy Hodges of Dresden and Fred Hodges of Nashville; one sister, Ivania Holley of Dresden; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Bobby Dean Hodges; two sisters, Lela Tucker and Ruth McWherter; two brothers, J. P. McWherter and Wilbert McWherter; and three grandchildren.
