Ginger Odom Doughten, 55, of Paris, stepmother of Dawn Ruddle of Troy and Bobby Doughten of Union City, died Jan. 4, 2010, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She was a former resident of this area.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Maplewood Baptist Church in Paris, with Corey Cain and the Rev. James Kinsey officiating.
There will be no visitation. Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris is in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that memorials be made to Maplewood Baptist Church building fund, P.O. Box 106, Paris, TN 38242.
She was born Oct. 3, 1954, in San Jacinto, Texas, daughter of Billy and Gina (Parker) Sliger of Paris. She was married to Gary Doughten March 16, 2002. He survives. She had been a longtime childcare provider in Paris and was employed by LHK Partners in Newark, N.J., in consumer studies. She was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church and enjoyed camping.
Survivors also include two daughters and her son-in-law, Staci and Stacy Brogdon of Paris and Jeni Odom of Knoxville; her son-in-law, Rex Ruddle of Troy; and five grandchildren, Hunter Brogdon, Tyler Brogdon, Weston Brogdon, Kara Grace Brogdon and Mallorie Ruddle.
