GOING TO NATIONALS — The Obion County Central High School varsity cheerleading squad recently competed in the Universal Cheerleaders’ Association Mid-South Regionals Competition. This competition is a qualifier for UCA Nationals. They received second place and a bid that qualifies them to attend the National High School Cheerleading Championships in Orlando, Fla., in February. Both the varsity and junior varsity squads are planning to attend the competition in February and the varsity squad is competing for the first national title in Obion County Central’s history. This will also be the first time ever in school history that a cheerleading squad has attended this competition. “The girls are vigorously working to raise money to attend this prestigious event,” a spokesman said.
