The Obion County Rescue Squad and Crewettes were well represented recently at the 54th annual convention of the Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads in Pigeon Forge.
There were 25 members in attendance.
TARS president Jim Williamson of the Obion County Rescue Squad presided over the TARS business meetings. His wife, Amy, president of the Woman’s Auxiliary to the Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads, presided over the WATARS business meetings.
The Obion County Rescue Squad extrication team took second place in the basic vehicle extrication contest. Members of the team were Capt. Teddy Willcutt, Tim Smith, Shane McDaniel, Josh Willcutt and Todd Lewis.
The Obion County Crewettes took second place in the WATARS scrapbook contest.
Vickie Sowell of Woodland Mills received the highest honor in WATARS by receiving the Crewette of the Year award, which is a statewide contest.
The County Crewettes, which had two teams competing in the turn-out gear race, won first and second place.
