Vernelle Sturdivant, hostess, had the place beautifully decorated for the fall season.
All normal business was conducted. Members answered roll call with “something new you would like to learn.”
Betty Lutton provided the devotional, “A Place to Stand,” from Gen. 8:8-9 about Noah rescuing a dove. “We often call upon the Lord who cares for us and gives us a place to stand and hope,” she said. Many sick were remembered and lifted up in prayer.
Frances Allen, Nettie B. Moore and Irene Galloway reported visiting several members from the area who reside at the Dyer Nursing Home.
Obion County University of Tennessee Extension agent Benita Giffin presented a program on the 2009 H1N1 vaccine. She distributed a flyer from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about H1N1 Flu. She covered a multitude of questions and answers as members expressed their concerns and understanding of this important health issue.
A report on work performed at the fair was made.
On Oct. 10, the club will be going to Rutherford to quilt during the Davy Crockett Celebration and on Oct. 17, will travel to Milan to quilt.
The club meets the first Thursday of every month. Anyone interested in joining the club is welcome to attend.
