FREDDY COLE appears in concert at the Cumberland County Playhouse in Crossville, TN on September 18, 2009. The 8:00 concert is sponsored by Stonehaus Winery and it promises to be an evening with vocals that are suave, elegant, formidable and articulate, and are among the most respected in jazz.
Cole, the brother of famed vocalist Nat “King” Cole, has a style and musical sophistication all his own, as an interpreter of America’s classic popular music and jazz, especially that of the ‘30’s, ‘40’s and the entire -twentieth century.

FREDDY COLE started playing piano when he was five or six years old, in
the very mucical Cole family household. “Music was all around me,” Freddy remembers. Visitors included Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Lionel Hampton, with Billy Eckstine as a major influence. “He was a fantastic entertainer,” recalls Cole, who has been a recording artist since 1952.
Inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2007, Cole was the subject of a ‘06 documentary The Cole Nobody Knows by filmmaker Clay Walker. In July 2009, he released a recording created Live at Lincoln Center’s jazz club, Dizzy’s, featuring his quartet.

“Freddy has an impeccable sense of swing…he is, overall, the most maturely expressive male jazz singer of his generation, if not the best alive.” – The New York Times
