AARP Chapter news

Weakley County AARP Chapter #3392 met on Wednesday, Aug. 19, in the fellowship hall of the First United Methodist Church in Martin. Nine members and guest speaker Attorney General Tommy Thomas attended the meeting.
Activities began at 9:30 a.m. with fellowship and refreshments. Hostesses were Mary Kate Bell and Gladys Hailey. Chapter President Gladys Simmons called the meeting to order at 10 a.m. and read an interesting writing by Mother Teresa.
The “Pledge of Allegiance” to the U.S. Flag was recited. Simmons gave a report on the August AARP regional meeting, which was hosted by Weakley County chapter.
The meeting was interesting and informative with several speakers.
Simmons appointed Marshall Hazelwood, Jean Bradberry and Mary Kate Bell to serve as the nominating committee for chapter officers for 2010. wcp 9-3
