Obion Central’s Clint Jones
School: Obion Central
By the numbers: Jones graded out the highest of any Rebel defender, earning an 87 percent evaluation in Obion Central’s 27-20 loss at Byhalia last week. He was in on 11 tackles in all, a couple in the Indian backfield, and drew high marks for both his effort and productivity.
Sound bite: “He was left one-on-one in a lot of different situations against some better athletes, and he did a great job of getting them on the ground most every time,” OC head coach Shawn Jackson said of Jones. “He was a little banged-up, but he played hard all night on both sides of the ball. He’s a tough kid, and he gives us everything he’s got every time he’s on the field.”
HONORABLE MENTION: Blake Boyd, OC senior linebacker, Recorded a team-high 12 tackles and forced a fumble; Hunter Allen, SF senior end, led the Red Devils with 10 tackles against WC; Cody Tatum, SF sophomore linebacker, was credited with eight tackles in South Fulton’s 36-27 Week 1 setback.
