The Crystal Family and Community Education Club held it August meeting in the Women’s Building at the Obion County Fairgrounds.
Obion County University of Tennessee Extension agent Benita Giffin presented her program on healthy living. She covered some things on the “Top Health” flyer which she distributed to members and focused on the need for healthy snacks for children.
Mrs. Giffin reminded members of the upcoming 28th annual state conference, which will be held in Jackson Nov. 8-11.
Susan Holzner gave the devotional. Roll was taken with each member naming her favorite cake.
Minutes from the previous two meetings were read and approved. Treasury reports were given. Money was collected for refrigerators/freezers in the home; this money helps the council with its functions.
A thank you card was read from Rochelle McClain for her gifts and cards following surgery. Mini conference was reported on. A flyer was received reminding members of the continuing Operation Christmas Child program. The Christmas in September program was discussed and will be tabled until next year due to a time crunch.
The next Obion County Council meeting will be held Oct. 12 at the Obion County Museum.
The next meeting of the Crystal FCE Club will be held at Reelfoot Baptist Church on Sept. 9. Mrs. McClain will be the hostess.
Anyone interested in joining the club is welcome to attend.
