Completed arrangements are being announced for William J. “Bill” Coleman, 84, of Union City, who died Aug. 13, 2009, at his home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Reelfoot Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery in the Crystal community.

Friends may call at White-Ranson Funeral Home from 5-8 this evening and at the church from 9 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Will David Coleman, Scott Coleman, Randy Shane Roberson, Anthony Roberson and Billy McVay.

Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Craddock, Donald Shepherd, Robert Alford, John R. Wiley, Thomas Nash and Johnny Caudle.

He was born Aug. 22, 1924, in Obion County, son of the late Thomas Elliott and Viola (Jordan) Coleman. He married the former Doris Hamblen June 26, 1948. She survives.

He was a farmer and a retired employee of the local Co-op. He was a member of Reelfoot Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon, and was also a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Daphne (Coleman) and Randy Roberson of Union City; his son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Rosemary Coleman of Union City; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Coleman, Scott Coleman and Anthony Roberson, all of Union City, Stacie McVay and Randy Shane Roberson, both of Newbern, Stephanie Wyatt of Denver, Shelley Dudley of Ridgely and Will David Coleman of Brentwood; and nine great-grandchildren; Randi Lynn McBride and Colton Quick, both of Ridgely, Alaina McVay, Gracie McVay and Addie Lynn Roberson, all of Newbern, Christian Wyatt and Andrew Wyatt, both of Denver, and Carly Coleman and Miller Coleman, both of Union City.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Billy Coleman; and two grandchildren, Cana Rose Coleman and Ann Coleman.
