The Rev. Dan Leggett, 58, of Dyersburg died Aug. 7, 2009. He was the brother of the Rev. Jerry Leggett of Union City.
Services were set for 1 p.m. today at Curry Funeral Home in Dyersburg, with the Revs. Randy Lainheart and Jerry Leggett officiating. Burial was to follow in Dyersburg’s Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were to be Daniel Beaver, Floyd Wallace, Harold Mikel, Toney Hill, Jason Wilson and Greg Wilson. Honorary pallbearers were to be Shelby Williams and Randy Williams.
The family requests that memorials be made to American Diabetes Association, 4205 Hillsboro Road, Suite 200, Nashville, TN 37215.
He was born April 12, 1951, in Memphis, son of the late Thomas Woodrow and Mattie Lue (Warren) Leggett.
He was ordained a minister in the Assemblies of God in 1979 and had pastored church in Tennessee, Mississippi, Kansas and Missouri.
He is also survived by his wife of 38 years, Eva (Davison) Leggett; his daughter and son-in-law, Melonie Rae (Leggett) and Randy Williams of Memphis; his sister-in-law, Brenda Leggett of Union City; and three granddaughters, Shelby Williams, Hannah Lynn “Bunny” Williams and Gabbriella Hope Williams, all of Memphis.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jackie Joe Leggett.
