DARREN RIDER NAMED TWRA BOATING DIVISION CHIEF

NASHVILLE — Darren Rider has been named as Chief of the Boating Division for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. He had been serving as the acting chief since March when former chief Ed Carter became the executive director of the agency.
As the Boating Division Chief, he is responsible for the coordination of statewide boating registration, education, accident investigations and enforcement programs for the agency. He also serves as liaison between the State of Tennessee and the U.S. Coast Guard and is designated as the State Boating Law Administrator.
Rider became the Boating Division’s Assistant Chief in 2005. Prior, he was a boating investigator for five years after serving as a wildlife officer for 14 years. He is a graduate of Tennessee Tech University.
He is a member of the National Association of Boating Law Administrators and the International Association of Marine Investigators
