A South Fulton man and a Sharon man have been charged in connection with car burglaries in Martin.
Arrested in possession of allegedly stolen items were Joshua Hooper, 28, of South Fulton and Billy McDaniel, 23, of Sharon, both charged with burglary, theft of property, identity theft and fraudulent use of a credit card, according to Martin Police Chief David Moore.
Early Tuesday, Martin police received reports of three separate car burglaries and the theft of items from a garage at locations on Ellis Street, Fonville Street and North College Street. The same day, police investigators were notified by one of the victims that a credit card stolen from her car had been used at two businesses in Martin.
Utilizing video footage from the businesses, officers were able to identify two suspects and located them a short time later at 127 East Heights Drive in Martin, according to Moore.
“Credited for quick work in this case were the victims’ timely reporting of the fraudulent card activity, Lt. Jason Arant’s patrol shift, Capt. Randal Walker and investigator Robby Hatler,” Moore said.
