Sidney Marcus “Smitty” Goldsmith, 83, of Union City died 7:50 p.m. July 25, 2009, at Obion County Nursing Home near Union City.
Graveside services will be noon Tuesday at Hornbeak City Cemetery, with the Rev. Chris Gouger officiating.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 10-11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
He was born Nov. 6, 1925, in Chicago. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of Union City Baptist Temple. He was the widower of Thelma (Ward) Brown Goldsmith.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Mae Holt and Jean Love, both of Union City; three stepsons, Bennie Brown of Dukedom, Mike Brown of Chattanooga and Randy Brown of Union City; and 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
