Koko set to wrestle
in Union City Friday

Union City’s Koko B. Ware, a 2009 World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Fame inductee, will be climbing into the ring on Friday night.
Ware will be joined by WWE Monday Night Raw color commentator Jerry “The King” Lawler on the card at Union City High School.
Bell time for the event is 7:30.
Also scheduled to appear is Too Cool 2, a tag team comprised of Obion Central graduates Michael Owens (Flex) and Tim Davidson (Tim Grind).
Ringside tickets, on sale at Reelfoot Bank, First State Bank, First Citizens Bank and Commercial Bank, are $15, while general admission is $10.

KIT slate washed out
due to damp fields

The Kitty League used Wednesday to dry off.
All three doubleheaders scheduled for Wedneday night — the Union City Greyhounds’ date at the Tradewater Pirates included — were postponed due to “field conditions.”
The doubleheaders will all be made up on Sunday and Monday will serve as a day off prior to the league playoffs.
The Greyhounds return to action tonight at home with a doubleheader against Sikeston.

Younger UC ’Hounds
playing in Charleston

The 10-and-under Grey-hounds travel baseball team from Union City was to begin play at the USSSA Global World Series in Charleston, S.C., this morning.
The team was to begin pool play at 10 this morning with another game at noon.
On Friday, UC plays at 8 a.m. and noon.
