MEMPHIS (AP) — A group of Israeli scouts is sharing traditional songs and dances on a tour that has stopped in Memphis.
In Israel, youths of both genders belong to one scouting association, unlike in the U.S., where Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts are separate organizations.
The Commercial Appeal reported the Israel Scout Friendship Caravan is on a 37th annual visit.
Five girls and five boys make up the troupe, which had a scheduled 7 p.m. performance Monday at the Memphis Community Jewish Center. Two shows were scheduled for Tuesday. One was at 2 p.m. and the Pink Palace and the other at 7 p.m. at the Overton Park band shell.
