Drug charges levied Posted: Wednesday, June 24, 2009 11:31 am The Messenger, June 24, 2009 A Trimble man was charged with drug-related offenses following a traffic stop Monday night in the 200 block of West Main Street in Union City. Sam Junior Hudson, 35, of 23 Switzer Road 34, Trimble, was arrested at 9:24 p.m. Monday on charges of sale/manufacture/delivery of a Schedule VI controlled substance (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia, third offense driving under the influence and violation of the implied consent law, according to a Union City Police Department report. A police officer reported he was traveling down South First Street behind a pickup truck and believed the driver was “driving very erratic,” resulting in his stopping the vehicle on West Main Street. The officer further reported that the driver, identified as Hudson, appeared to be “very unsteady on his feet” after exiting the vehicle. During the traffic stop, Hudson allegedly refused to do any sobriety tests and allegedly was found to be in possession of 203 grams of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana that was packaged for resale, as well as a metal container that contained packaging materials and a set of digital scales, according to the report. Police seized $1,265 in cash and the vehicle from Hudson. |
