Golden Living Center in Union City has announced the following activities for June 21-27 at the nursing home.
Sunday: Baptist Temple of Union City will visit and hold Sunday school services at 10 a.m. At 3:30, Exchange Street Church of Christ of Union City will visit and hold evening services.
Monday: The beauty shop will be open all day, with services provided by Metta Sisk of Union City. One-on-one visits will be offered to the residents by volunteers and the activity department from 7-9 a.m. A New Beginning with Reelfoot Baptist Church will be held with the residents in the main dining area from 9:30-11. Monday afternoon singing and Bible study will be held 1-2.
Tuesday: The coffee club will meet at 9:30 a.m. The Young at Heart of Second Baptist Church in Union City will meet with the residents in the main dining area at 10:30. Kenneth Creasy of Shepherd’s Field Church in Martin will lead the Golden Tones and Drama Club practice at 2 p.m. Terry Phillips of Union City will hold an all-sing and devotion at 7.
Wednesday: At 9:30 a.m., the Coffee and News Club will meet. Jean Jackson of Union City will host the Crossroads group at 10:30. The facility’s resident council will meet at 1:30 p.m. A game of “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader” will be offered to interested residents at 2.
Thursday: Metta Sisk of Union City will provide beauty shop services. The coffee club will meet at 9 a.m. Bishop Street Church of Christ of Union City will provide Bible study at 10. Geri Barber of Union City will host Bingo at 2 p.m. The Hilltopper Band of Union City will perform for residents and guests at 6:30. Friends and families are invited to join in the evening of fun, a spokesman said.
Friday and Saturday: A resident council yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day to raise money for the residents’ Christmas fund.
