A Union City man has been charged with drug offenses by the Martin Police Department.
Joseph D. Ogden of 1997 Armstrong Road, Union City, has been charged with simple possession/casual exchange and unlawful drug paraphernalia use and activities.
According to a report, police obtained a search warrant for a 1994 GMC Z71 truck on Tuesday and served it while the vehicle was parked at University Courts near a unit on the University of Tennessee at Martin campus. Police found a camouflage container located in the driver’s seat that held a plastic baggy containing a coffee filter and white crystals believed to be methamphetamine. The crystals field-tested positive for meth. The camouflage container also held five hypodermic needles and a spoon.
A camouflage propane tank, which had the nozzle removed, was also found under the truck bed lid. The suspect was found to be in possession of a nozzle commonly found on propane tanks. The nozzle did have green paint on it, it was noted in the report.
