UC man charged Posted: Monday, June 15, 2009 9:13 pm A Union City man has been charged with drug offenses by the Martin Police Department. Joseph D. Ogden of 1997 Armstrong Road, Union City, has been charged with simple possession/casual exchange and unlawful drug paraphernalia use and activities. According to a report, police obtained a search warrant for a 1994 GMC Z71 truck on Tuesday and served it while the vehicle was parked at University Courts near a unit on the University of Tennessee at Martin campus. Police found a camouflage container located in the driver’s seat that held a plastic baggy containing a coffee filter and white crystals believed to be methamphetamine. The crystals field-tested positive for meth. The camouflage container also held five hypodermic needles and a spoon. A camouflage propane tank, which had the nozzle removed, was also found under the truck bed lid. The suspect was found to be in possession of a nozzle commonly found on propane tanks.
