Willie Ruth Pettit

Willie Ruth “Bill” Pettit, 88, of Martin, died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at the Weakley County Rehab and Nursing Home, Dresden.
Services were held 11 a.m. today at Murphy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Griffin officiating. Burial was in East Side Cemetery.
Keith Pettit, Jay Pettit, James H. Pettit, Larry Wilkinson, Gary Wilkinson and Steven Walters served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer was Bill Stout.
Mrs. Pettit was born September 3, 1920, in Weakley County, daughter of the late Herbert and Betty Mae Birchem Harris. She was the widow of Macon Pettit, a housewife and member of Bible Union Baptist Church.
Survivors include one brother, Bobby Lee Harris of Gallion, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Mable Wilkinson of Dresden; and several nieces and nephews.
