Summer arts camp planned Posted: Tuesday, June 2, 2009 2:36 pm Summer arts camp planned The second annual SUMMER ARTS CAMP for children organized by members of the Weakley County Arts and Humanities Council will be held at Dresden Elementary School, 759 Linden St. on Hwy 22 in Dresden, on July 15, 16 and 17. Students will be able to choose two classes from those offered: creative writing, dance/movement, doll making, drawing, music, painting, sculpture, singing, and theater. Classes will be held in the mornings between 9 a.m. and noon, and on the final day there will be an Open House where students and guests may view artwork and enjoy performances. Each class will be taught by a highly qualified artist/teacher. Fees are only $30 per child, which covers both classes, including supplies. Participants will each be assigned to two classes for three days. Class preferences will be considered on a first come first served basis. Applications must be postmarked by July 1. Students do not have to be residents of Weakley County. Fees are not refundable.
