Mr. and Mrs. Neil Rawls of Martin will be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary June 1. There will be a reception for the couple from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, June 6 at the home of their daughter, Jennifer Head, 155 Royal Oak Cove, Martin. All friends and relatives are invited; invitations will be sent to out-of-town guests only. The couple requests no gifts.
Neil Walthall Rawls and Jama Rue Buntin were married at their home at 117 Carlton Street in Gleason in 1969.
They have two children: Stephanie Light and husband Randy of Kennesaw, Ga., and Jennifer Head and husband Derrick of Martin. They have two grandchildren: Riley Light and Mattie Lou Light.
They are members of First United Methodist Church in Martin. Since retirement, the Rawls’ have enjoyed volunteering and visiting family.
