James C. Williamson Posted: Monday, June 1, 2009 12:36 pm The Messenger, June 1, 2009 James C. “Gator” Williamson, 70, of Trimble, a former resident of Ocala, Fla., and the grandfather of Clarissa Ann Stevenson of Kenton, died May 29, 2009, at his home. Services will be 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home in Newbern, with interment to be held at a later date at Pine Level Cemetery in Oxford, Fla. Dr. Bill Oakley will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday. He was born Dec. 10, 1938, in Ocala, son of the late James Marvin and Jessie Mae (Hardin) Williamson. He was a 1958 graduate of Lake Weir High School in Summerfield, Fla., and had been a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in Vietnam. Prior to his retirement, he was the general operations manager for Florida East Coast Railway Co. Survivors also include his daughter, Sylvia Ann Stevenson of Newbern; two other grandchildren, Kelsi Lee Stevenson of Orlando, Fla., and Kendall Rae Stevenson of Newbern; two sisters, Francis Alkoury of Homasassa, Fla., and Catherine Blech of Crow’s Bluff, Fla.; and his brother, Curtis “Woody” Lang of McRae, Fla. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Martha Siniard.
