Miss Pope, Betts to wed Posted: Wednesday, May 27, 2009 8:01 pm The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Laura Lynn Pope and William Barrett Betts, both of Union City, are being announced today. The bride-elect is the daughter of Karen Pope of Chattanooga. She is the granddaughter of the late Glen and Helen Pope of Ripley. She is a 2006 graduate of Obion County Central High School. She is attending Dyersburg State Community College, where she is pursing a degree in education. She is employed at Star Physical Therapy as a physical therapy technician. The groom-elect is the son of Pamela King Betts and the late Donnie Earl Betts of Rives. His grandparents are Doris Betts and the late James Betts and the late Willard and Nelda King, all of Union City. He is a 2002 graduate of Union City High School. He is attending the University of Tennessee at Martin, where he is pursing a degree in business. He is the owner of Parks Luxury Limousines Service and a partner in Oak Hill Properties, a family-owned real estate company. The couple will exchange vows Aug. 1 in an outdoor wedding ceremony with a reception to be held immediately following at the home of the groom’s mother in Rives. , |
