L. M. McBride Posted: Wednesday, May 27, 2009 4:17 pm L. M. “Mac” McBride, 84, of Fulton, Ky., died Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, Ky. Services were 11 a.m. today at Hornbeak Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton, with Rev. Mike Adams, Dr. Jack Acree and Roger Kephart officiating. Burial was in Greenlea Cemetery in Fulton. McBride was born October 21, 1924, in Haywood County, son of the late Louis Kenneth and Floy Ann McBride. He served as president, CEO and Chairman of the Board of City National Bank in Fulton for more than 35 years, a member of Fulton Rotary Club for 48 years, served on the Kentucky Bankers Association board of directors for six years including one term as president, six years on the American Banker’s Association Community Banking Council and three years on the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce board of directors. He served as president of the Twin Cities Chamber of Commerce and was twice named Chamber of Commerce Citizens of the Year, served a number of years as treasurer of Fulton Industrial Corporation, was chairman of Fulton Industrial Development Authority for more than 30 years, was instrumental in the purchase of the Fulton Industrial Park acreage and the location of several industries in Fulton. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church in Fulton. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mrs. Albertine (Abbie) Booth McBride, of Fulton; one daughter, Brenda (Robert) Mahan of Fulton; two grandsons, John Nanney of St. Louis, Mo., and Bradley (Angela) Nanney of Fulton; and two great-granddaughters, Abigal Reese Nanney and Avery Michelle Nanney, both of Fulton, Ky. He was also preceded in death by one son, Gary McBride.
